The New York Jets have met with quarterback Derek Carr in recent days. In the process, the franchise apparently charmed the playmaker with the prospect of the Hall of Fame.
The New York Jets are looking for a new quarterback. It’s obvious. Mike White was not convincing last season and most fans have long since lost faith in Zach Wilson.
Derek Carr is a declared target. The Jets met with the playmaker recently released by the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this week. The vision the Jets have apparently shown him shows how badly New York wants to convince Carr to make a move.
With Super Bowl win for Jets in Hall of Fame?
For as “ESPN” reports, the AFC East team has reportedly assured the free agent that he could get into the Hall of Fame with the Jets. All it would take? A Super Bowl win. “We think you’ll be a First Ballot Hall of Famer if you win with us,” was reportedly the tenor.
In any case, the Jets’ team is built for success. New York produced the Rookie of the Year last season on both offence (wide receiver Garrett Wilson) and defence (cornerback Sauce Gardner). In addition to that, running back Breece Hall is a rising star returning in 2023.
Carr hasn’t decided yet. His release shortly after the Super Bowl allows him to sign with a new team before the start of free agency on 15 March.
