Denver – Jonas Griffith declares war: “Broncos will surprise people this season”

The Denver Broncos haven’t qualified for the playoffs in eight seasons. But things are set to improve in Sean Payton’s second season.

The Denver Broncos are looking forward to their second season with Head Coach Sean Payton. The franchise has not made the playoffs since winning the Super Bowl in the 2015 season. However, linebacker Jonas Griffith is convinced that 2024 will be the Broncos’ season.

“I think he has a lot of confidence in the team this year,” Griffith said on “Denver Sports 104.3 The Fan.” “We’re going to surprise a lot of people. He talks to us a lot about it, too. He said, ‘Hey, you know – I feel really comfortable with the guys this year. And we’re ready to go. We still have a lot of work to do, but we’re ready.”

Griffith also defended Payton’s leadership style, which often portrayed a poor image to the media. “Honestly, I don’t think he was grumpy with the players last year. He might have been to the media,” Griffith said.

“I think there’s a difference between the Sean Payton that the media gets to see and the Sean Payton that the players get to see. He’s always been great to me,” Griffith said.

Griffith was unable to help the Broncos on the field last year as he was sidelined in August due to a torn ACL. His return should help the defense finally get back on track for success.
