According to the report, the Broncos will send a first-round pick in 2023 and a second-round pick in the 2024 draft to the New Orleans Saints to secure the 59-year-old’s services. Additionally, the Broncos are expected to get the Saints’ 2024 third-round pick.

For Payton, it would be his second stint as a head coach in the NFL. He held the post with the New Orleans Saints from 2006 to 2021 and won the Super Bowl with the franchise in 2010. After the 2021 season, Payton announced his retirement as HC of the Saints. He has the best record of any Saints coach with 161 wins and 97 losses.

Sean Payton not the Broncos’ first choice at all?

With the Denver Broncos, Payton would succeed Nathaniel Hackett and interim head coach Jerry Rosburg Official confirmation pending.
