Denver Broncos: “Recruiter” Russell Wilson wants to build a “super team”

To win the Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos, Russell Wilson is not only stepping on the gas on the field. The quarterback also shines as a “recruiter”. The next target could be an ex-teammate.

Munich – When Wilson calls!

Russell Wilson turns out to be not only a notable reinforcement at the quarterback position for the Denver Broncos, but also in the front office. Because Wilson takes a lot of work off general manager George Paton’s shoulders.

Wilson, the quarterback, also shines as a “recruiter” for the Broncos. So the 33-year-old wants to attack with the Broncos in the fight for the Super Bowl, “he texts, makes FaceTime calls – and tries to recruit players for Denver, where he wants to build a super team,” reports NFL expert Jason La Canfora at “CBS Sports”.

Firsts

First successes have already come: The Broncos have signed outside linebacker Randy Gregory and lineman D.J. Jones. Also with help from Wilson.

“It’s an advantage when I can text a franchise quarterback and he’ll call eight times,” Paton acknowledged that Wilson can be persistent. And is always ready, even when he has a lot on his plate.

That’s pretty special, Paton said, because Wilson drops everything “to FaceTime with Randy Gregory. That’s pretty cool. I know he’s done that with D.J. and some other guys we’ve talked to, too.”

That’s why there should be plenty more to come from the Broncos, La Canfora assumes Denver isn’t done yet. One possible target: ex-Seahawk Bobby Wagner, who is not only Wilson’s ex-teammate but also a free agent after being released by Seattle.
