The elimination in the Wild Card Round has consequences for three coaches. Offensive coordinator Alex van Pelt comments on his departure from the Browns
The Cleveland Browns are drawing the consequences of their disappointing elimination in the Wild Card Round against the Houston Texans.
As reported by several US media outlets and experts, the Ohio franchise has parted ways with offensive coordinator Alex van Pelt, running backs coach Stump Mitchell and tight ends coach T.C. McCartney.
Van Pelt confirmed his retirement to “EPSN” and said, “Moving on. I was proud of my time there.”
Previously, there had been mixed reports regarding van Pelt’s future.
While CBS reported that he would also have to retire, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network stated that van Pelt was still under contract with the Browns. A final decision is therefore still pending.
