The Cincinnati Bengals’ Paul Brown Stadium is one of the few arenas in the NFL whose naming rights have not yet been sold to a sponsor. However, that is reportedly about to change.
Munich/Cincinnati – Paul Brown Stadium has been the home of the Cincinnati Bengals since 2000.
But that could soon change, according to a report in the Cincinnati Inquirer.
NFL: Only one of three stadiums without sponsorship
According to this, it looks like the Bengals have reached an agreement with a new naming sponsor for the stadium. What the team’s home stadium will then be called and how much the deal is expected to bring in is still unknown.
Currently, Paul Brown Stadium is only one of three stadiums in the NFL that still bear their traditional name. The others are Soldier Field in Chicago, which could soon be retired, and Lambeau Field in Green Bay.
Nameless Paul Brown was the first head coach as well as the first general manager of the Bengals in 1968, and remained vice president of the franchise until his death in 1991.
Brisant: The owner and president of the franchise, who is responsible for selling the naming rights, is none other than Paul Brown’s son Mike. Currently, the stadium is still owned by Hamilton County and the City of Cincinnati.
