This is certainly not good news for the Cincinnati Bengals. Running back Joe Mixon has been charged with aggravated menacing again. New evidence makes this move possible
Bad news for Joe Mixon. The Cincinnati Police Department has re-filed aggravated menacing charges against the Bengals’ running back, the department announced in a press release.
The reinstatement of the charges, which were actually dismissed back on February 3, is based on the discovery of new evidence during the investigative process, police said.
“In order to ensure a fair and impartial trial for all parties, no investigation details or evidence will be disclosed outside of official court proceedings,” the authority said in its statement.
The franchise is also aware if the new developments and commented on the reopening of the case saying, “The club is aware that misdemeanour charges have been brought against Joe Mixon. The team will monitor the situation and refrain from further comment. “
Mixon faces misdemeanor charges
Mixon was originally charged back on February 2 after a complaint was filed in Hamilton County Municipal Court alleging the athlete pointed a firearm at a woman and said to her, “You should be punched in the face, I should shoot you. The police can’t get me.”
The incident allegedly occurred on 21 January, just one day later the Bengals defeated the Buffalo Bills in the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.
Joe Mixon was already in trouble with the law before he joined the best football league in the world. In 2014, for example, he was charged because a video showed him knocking out a female student with one punch in an Oklahoma restaurant.
