While the Baltimore Ravens are in a quarterback quandary with Lamar Jackson, the Cincinnati Bengals don’t want it to get that far. Contract talks with Joe Burrow are underway – but that’s all.
The Cincinnati Bengals have probably had the two most successful seasons in their franchise history.
One key reason for that: quarterback Joe Burrow. The quarterback, who will be entering his fourth year, has been eligible for an extension since this offseason. The Bengals have already confirmed talks – but announced no rush.
Burrow extension: “Hoping we can get something done “
At the NFL’s annual owners meeting in Phoenix, Bengals executive vice president Katie Blackburn talked about Burrow’s upcoming contract and put the brakes on expectations. “We’re thinking about it, obviously,” she explained.
“But it was Free Agency that we had to take care of first,” Blackburn continued. “We think we’ll be able to get a bit deeper into negotiations soon. “
However, she could not or would not give a timetable. “We can’t give a pace or anything like that. We will not talk about anything if there is nothing to talk about,” the Bengals official announced.
In addition to Burrow, high-priced extensions are also in store for Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers, Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins and Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles.
