The turmoil surrounding wide receiver Stefon Diggs is dominating the Buffalo Bills’ offseason. Quarterback Josh Allen is now criticising the media for it
The NFL may be in preparation and about to start training camps, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t rumours, speculation or drama. The Buffalo Bills have their very own offseason story.
Headlining it is receiver superstar Stefon Diggs, who caused a stir at minicamp.
The pass receiver showed up, then didn’t show up. At first, Head Coach Sean McDermott was “concerned”, but then everything seemed to be cleared up again.
Robert Griffin III believes there is trouble
But the issue continues to simmer, with the media in the US shining an intense spotlight on the Bills’ potential problems. Robert Griffin III, ex-quarterback and now NFL analyst for “ESPN”, most recently stated that he believes there is a personal issue between Diggs and quarterback Josh Allen.
The two clashed in the playoffs. Allen also placed some of the blame for the behind-the-scenes problems on himself in June and has now put himself in front of Diggs again. At the same time, Allen also criticised the media very clearly.
Josh Allen: “Let it go “
“I love Diggs. That’s my man,” Allen said on the Bussin With the Boys podcast. “The media has blown this up so much. We’re in minicamp. We don’t play a game for four months. He doesn’t show up one day, he’s still there, coach asked him to go home, they’re in talks, they’re trying to work some things out. They’re still talking about it. Let it go. There’s no need to keep talking about it. “
That’s exactly what’s going to happen though, at least until training camp. That starts for Diggs and Co. on 26 July.
