Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin, made famous by his cardiac arrest on the field, will return to the field in Week 1 of the preseason.
There will be a special moment in the first week of the NFL Preseason in the game between the Buffalo Bills and the Indianapolis Colts.
Bills safety Damar Hamlin is expected to start for the first time since collapsing in Week 17 of last season, his team announced.
The now 25-year-old suffered cardiac arrest on the field against the Cincinnati Bengals and had to be revived by paramedics while still on the field.
Hamlin spent nine days in intensive care at a Cincinnati hospital before he was finally released.
The game between Buffalo and the Bengals was called off after some back and forth, but could not be made up due to the advanced stage of the game.
Hamlins foundation experiences flood of donations
The incident sparked a wave of sympathy. Hamlin’s Chasing M’s foundation received nearly six million dollars in donations within 24 hours of his collapse.
The safety had repeatedly stressed his desire to make a comeback and will apparently complete it this week.
