Star defender Joey Bosa has signed a record contract with the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL professional football league. According to several media reports, Bosa extended his contract in L.A. for five years and will receive a total of 135 million dollars (115 million euros) in return. This makes the 25-year-old the best-paid defensive player in the league, as he is guaranteed a total of 102 million dollars (87 million euros).

Bosa, who was selected third by the Chargers in the 2016 Draft, received the award for Best Defensive Rookie of the Year in his first NFL season and was voted into the Pro Bowl twice in total. Just two weeks ago, the Cleveland Browns set a record for defenders by extending Myles Garrett’s time in the $100 million guaranteed.
