Baker Mayfield: Hope for agreement between Cleveland Browns and Carolina Panthers

The future of Baker Mayfield in the NFL is still open. He doesn’t have one with the Cleveland Browns, and they have yet to find an agreement with the Carolina Panthers.

Munich – What’s next for Baker Mayfield? The only thing that is certain at the moment is: not with the Cleveland Browns.

But in mid-June the hot phase of preparation for the new season is getting closer and closer, and the quarterback is still under contract with the Browns.

Over the past few weeks and months, teams have been adding playmakers in free agency or the draft, only there was no room for Mayfield.

The Carolina Panthers were interested in Mayfield, but they want the Browns to take on most of his $18.8 million salary. That has apparently prevented a trade so far. Firing Mayfield is also out of the question for the Browns.

Carolina Panthers complete minicamp

The good news for the former No. 1 pick is that the Panthers are said to still be interested, according to “CBS Sports,” which is why the two teams are continuing talks about a trade. Because the Panthers offer is apparently the best the Browns have. The bad news: the salary issue remains both elementary and unresolved.

Actually, the Panthers have an interest in picking up the pace on the trade because then Mayfield could at least get some time with the team at minicamp, which has been going on since June 14 and continues through June 16.
