Aaron Rodgers publicly rejects NFL team

Until now, Aaron Rodgers has played for the Green Bay Packers and the New York Jets in the NFL. During a Q&A session, the star quarterback was asked about the possibility of playing for the New Orleans Saints in the future.

Aaron Rodgers is picky when it comes to his next NFL team. Although the four-time MVP is still without a contract for the new season, one obvious option is out of the question for him.

Rodgers made that clear as a guest on a live episode of the “YNK Podcast.” On stage, the longtime Green Bay Packers quarterback, who had to leave the New York Jets after two disappointing years, answered questions from fans.

One woman wanted to know: “I live about an hour south of New Orleans. And as you know, we don’t have a quarterback. And you’re a free agent now. Would you ever consider playing for the Saints and making us great again?” His short answer: “No!” This was met with laughter and an outcry from the questioner.

Only after a few seconds did he continue: “That’s the answer.” After Rodgers also had to laugh, he continued: “I’ve played there a few times, but no. The answer is no. I’m too old, I don’t want to live in Louisiana.” As if the question were an insult, Rodgers added incredulously: “I’m sorry.”

Aaron Rodgers to the Steelers? Decision still open

After Derek Carr was forced to end his career due to injury, the Saints are left with only inexperienced quarterbacks in Jake Haener, Spencer Rattler, and rookies Tyler Shough and Hunter Dekkers. This has led to recent speculation that the franchise would try to sign Rodgers.

If those responsible have actually considered this, they can save themselves the trouble of making contact.

At the event in Texas’ capital Austin, Rodgers was also asked about a possible move to the Chicago Bears, one of the Packers’ biggest rivals. He dismissed this speculation as well, pointing out that there is a team still playing in Chicago this year.

He was presumably referring to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are visiting Soldier Field in Week 12. The franchise led by head coach Mike Tomlin seems to have been the hottest prospect for weeks. Mason Rudolph, Skylar Thompson, and rookie Will Howard are currently under contract in Steel City.

Steelers waiting for Aaron Rodgers: Retirement also an option

But the Steelers will have to be patient. And continue to field questions about Rodgers. Owner Art Rooney II recently emphasized that the club is prepared to wait “a little longer” for a decision.

Edge rusher Alex Highsmith said in an interview with NFL Media that the Steelers would be delighted to welcome Rodgers to their ranks. The wait is not a distraction.

The “Gunslinger” himself recently revealed on the “Joe Rogan Experience” show that people close to him have been diagnosed with cancer. Since then, there has been speculation that this is one of the reasons he is hesitating to make a decision. The end of his career does not seem completely out of the question either.
