Ubiquitous allegations against Mecole Hardman: Did the wide receiver leak relevant information to opponents during his time with the New York Jets?
Wide receiver Mecole Hardman is facing serious allegations.
As “SNY” reports, the New York Jets have “reasonable suspicion” that the 25-year-old passed on relevant information regarding tactics and strategy to opponents out of frustration during his short time with the Jets.
Specifically, this is said to have involved the games in week four against the Kansas City Chiefs and two weeks later against the Philadelphia Eagles. Above all, passing on information to the Chiefs would be piquant, as he later returned there.
The reaction of the accused was not long in coming. “False accusations were made about me and my character,” Hardman wrote on “X”
The 25-year-old also clarified: “To be clear: I have never given a game plan to another team and never would. I’ve never been a person who has given an opponent an advantage. I always want to win, no matter the circumstances!”
Jets players Yeboah and Gardner accuse Hardman
A statement from the Jets is still pending, according to “ESPN” the franchise has so far refused to make a statement.
However, some Jets players such as Sauce Gardner and Kenny Yeboah backed up the accusations. Hardman “is on the wrong track. But we’re not going to talk about how the game plan of our offense leaked against the Eagles,” Gardner had previously posted on “X”.
However, the aforementioned games in the Jets’ season were not particularly negative, on the contrary: against the Chiefs, quarterback Zach Wilson showed one of his few good games, with the Chiefs only narrowly prevailing 23:20. The Jets even won the duel with the Eagles 20:14.
Hardman was traded to New York as a free agent in March 2023, but was barely considered in the first few games. He only caught one ball in five games.
He was then traded to the Chiefs, for whom he had already played between 2019 and 2022. There, too, he did not get beyond the role of runner for a long time, but in Super Bowl LVIII against the San Francisco 49ers he decided the game with a touchdown in overtime
