Via Instagram Live, Kadarius Toney showed his anger – supposedly at the Kansas City Chiefs, who he even seemed to accuse of lying. About a week later, the wide receiver backtracks
There’s been a lot of heat between the Kansas City Chiefs and Kadarius Toney lately. But that was down to the wide receiver.
He apparently accused the franchise via Instagram Live of lying about his condition after KC did not nominate the 2021 first-round pick for the AFC Championship at the Baltimore Ravens (17-10), citing a hip injury and personal reasons.
In any case, the 25-year-old, who had become a father around the time of the game, was quite angry and went on a rant.
The video caused quite a stir, as it seemed like an attack from the blind side that came out of nowhere. At least for outsiders.
In the meantime, Toney also seems to have realized that the statements put him in a bad light, especially since Head Coach Andy Reid had already emphasized that the injury was “by no means fabricated.”
Kadarius Toney rows back – it’s all fake?
Now, about a week before the Super Bowl in Las Vegas, Toney is backpedaling, claiming that his IG Live video was altered after the fact.
According to him, he was in possession of “all the clips” that would explain that his statement was not related to Kansas City. However, he is so annoyed by the whole thing that he will not publish the complete clips, which would make it clear who he was addressing.
There is already speculation on the internet that the clip could possibly be from his time with the New York Giants.
In general, this season is going anything but well for Toney. He hasn’t been on the field since Week 15 and has recorded just 27 catches and 165 yards all season, which is the worst total of his career.
