Just before the Super Bowl, there’s bad news for Kansas City superstar Patrick Mahomes. His father has been arrested for driving under the influence – not for the first time

With just over a week to go before the Super Bowl against the San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes has received some unpleasant news in his personal life.

As the portal “TMZ” reports, Mahomes’ father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., was arrested on Saturday evening in Texas for driving under the influence of drugs. Bail was to be set in the course of Sunday.

This is not the first time the 53-year-old has attracted negative attention in this regard.

He was arrested for an identical offense back in 2012. In 2018, another conviction was followed by a 40-day prison sentence, which he reportedly served over several weekends.

It remains to be seen whether Mahomes Sr. will be released in time for the Super Bowl on February 11 and can be on site in Las Vegas.
