Kansas City Chiefs: Head coach Andy Reid responds to allegations from wide receiver Kadarius Toney

Kadarius Toney claims he is wrongly on the Injury Report and is not injured at all. Chiefs coach Andy Reid counters this statement.

Kadarius Toney caused a stir with his rant via Instagram Live before his Kansas City Chiefs’ AFC Championship Game at the Baltimore Ravens.

He was not injured at all, he said, contradicting the team that had placed him on the injury report. The defending champion cited a “hip injury” and “personal reasons” as the reason.

Head coach Andy Reid has now responded to the accusations. He had not seen the video himself, but had heard about it, he said in an interview with the radio station “Sports 810 WHB”.

“He was on the Injury Report, so it’s definitely not made up,” Reid said. Toney is “working on some things” and will be in attendance when the Chiefs begin practice Thursday for the Super Bowl in just under two weeks against the San Francisco 49ers.

Toney causes uproar with rant

A few hours before kickoff last Sunday, Toney caused an uproar on social media.

Toney went live on Instagram and claimed he wasn’t injured at all. The wide receiver was ranting loudly, apparently attacking the Chiefs.

“That shit is a lie. I’m not injured. Kiss my ass!” he raged.

According to multiple media reports, the “personal reason” that led to Toney’s absence, besides the hip injury, was the birth of his first child, according to Injury Report.

The former first-round pick had already missed the Chiefs’ past five games due to the hip injury. But even when Toney was on the field, he mostly made more negative headlines than positive plays.
