Detroit Lions – Juicy fine for Amon-Ra St. Brown because of block

Wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has been fined heavily by the NFL. The reason: A block in the run game.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is not only the linchpin of the Detroit Lions’ passing game, the wide receiver also impresses time and again with his good blocking work.

However, this is now costing him dearly. The NFL has fined the slot receiver 43,709 US dollars.

The fine relates to a play in the game against the Chicago Bears. St. Brown is accused of initiating contact with the opponent on a running play with his head first.

There was no flag during the play. However, the league reserves the right to hand out penalties for infringements of the rules afterwards, regardless of the referees’ decision during the game.

Detroit Lions lose on Thanksgiving

St. Brown has the opportunity to appeal the penalty. The 24-year-old has 82 catches for 993 yards and five touchdowns this season.
