At the trade deadline, the New York Jets were looking to make a trade for Davante Adams. That’s according to NFL insider Adam Schefter
A few days ago, the Las Vegas Raiders cleaned up their own ranks and fired their head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler, among others.
However, they did not want to part with star player Davante Adams. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the New York Jets had inquired about Adams at the trade deadline with the Raiders, but are said to have been turned down.
Considering the Raiders’ athletic situation (3-5 record) and Adams’ growing frustration with his employer, a trade didn’t seem unlikely leading up to the deadline.
Davante Adams and Aaron Rodgers almost reunited
With the Jets, Adams, who has 47 catches for 539 yards and three touchdowns this season, would have played with his old Packers teammate Aaron Rodgers.
Currently, however, Rodgers is still suffering from a torn Achilles tendon. Zach Wilson took over as starter for the second matchday.
