Justine Lindsay, the NFL’s first transgender cheerleader, criticises the law in sports and fights for transgender participation in women’s sports in the U.S.

With Justine Lindsay, the NFL’s first transgender cheerleader is raising her voice to fight the restrictions on transgender people in sports in her home state of North Carolina.

She wants to take legal action against these restrictions, which in North Carolina and 21 other US states prohibit transgender people from participating in sports competitions with women, even in high school sports.

“I’m going to fight it until I can’t fight it anymore,” the 30-year-old told Elle magazine about her efforts to legally overturn the so-called Fairness in Women’s Sports Act.

The reason for passing this law, she said, is that according to numerous experts, transgender people have an unfair physical advantage over biological women.

Lindsay joined the Carolina Panthers cheerleading squad in 2022. Since then, her experience has not been all positive.

Head cheerleader: ” … not 100 percent the case “

“I wish with all my heart I could tell you that all of our fans celebrate Justine on game day,” said head cheerleader Chandalae Lanouette, “but that’s just not 100 percent the case.”

Sometimes fans want to take a selfie with the TopCats, the Carolina Panthers’ cheerleaders. According to Lanouette, there have been times when they didn’t want transgender cheerleader Lindsay in the photo together.
