New York Giants: Coaching legend Bill Parcells financially supports ex-players

Bill Parcells led the New York Giants to two Super Bowl victories as head coach. His former players can still rely on his help today

Big gesture by NFL coaching legend Bill Parcells: The 82-year-old has “lent” a total of four million dollars to 20 of his former players with the New York Giants. This is reported by US media. According to the report, Parcells supported his former protégés in a financial emergency with a lot of money that he will probably not get back.

“These guys have sacrificed so much for me with their bodies and their commitment,” Parcells responded to a question about his generosity, according to the report. Hall of Famer Randy Moss shared a post on the topic on the “X” platform (formerly “Twitter”), writing, “Another reason to love coach!”

Parcells, who had never been a professional player himself, began his coaching career at the age of 23. He first joined the New York Giants in 1979, returning to the metropolis in 1981 after a year with the New England Patriots.

After two years as defensive coordinator, Parcells took over as head coach of the Giants in 1983 and shaped an era. In 1987 and 1991 he won the Super Bowl with the team and then initially ended his career.

In 1993 he continued his career and became head coach of the New England Patriots, with whom he reached the Super Bowl again in 1997, but lost to the Green Bay Packers.

Parcells subsequently went to the New York Jets for three years and later again to the Dallas Cowboys for four seasons. In 2013 he was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
