The Cincinnati Bengals’ offense is one of the best in the league. But for how much longer? Payday is coming soon for a trio – and they probably won’t be able to keep all the top performers. The Bengals’ owner confirmed this indirectly.

Quarterback Joe Burrow and his wide receivers Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd form the Cincinnati Bengals’ feared passing offence. Finding more quality in the NFL, both across the board and at the top, is likely to be extremely difficult.

That’s not the only reason why the franchise’s fans want the offence to stay together in this form. But with several contract extensions pending, the chances of that happening are not really great.

Bengals owner Mike Brown admitted this via “ESPN”. “We’ve got some pretty outstanding players that all want to be fed. It’s a challenge.”

Burrow is already earning significantly more in the fifth year of his rookie deal starting in 2024, and his new contract starting in 2025 will then likely be record-setting. Higgins’ contract, on the other hand, expires after this season, as does Boyd’s. Only Chase, drafted in the first round in 2021, doesn’t have a payday coming up in the near future.

The owner, however, would not provide insight into ongoing contract talks.

“I made a point not to talk about Joe’s contract. We made a deal and his side has stuck to it impeccably so far, so I will do the same,” Brown refused to be drawn on the matter .

That all the protagonists of the Bengals’ successful quartet will also stay in Cincinnati is therefore almost impossible.
