NFL: Dalvin Cook could apparently face suspension

Running back Dalvin Cook could be facing a suspension, according to a media report. The reason for this is the accusation of domestic violence.

Running back Dalvin Cook is facing a domestic violence charge. The currently club-less 27-year-old allegedly became violent towards his then-girlfriend in November 2021. This was reported by the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The girlfriend then reported him to the police.

Cook and his lawyer pleaded guilty to defamation. Now, according to the report, the Minneapolis Star Tribune has a document in which Cook and his lawyer offer his then-girlfriend and her lawyer one million US dollars to drop the charges and proclaim Cook’s innocence to the NFL.

It is unclear exactly how the documents, which are actually subject to secrecy, have now ended up in the media.

Cook still looking for new team

Meanwhile, the running back has been looking for a new employer for several weeks. He spent the past six seasons with the Minnesota Vikings, who released him in early June.

Due to the recent reports, some NFL teams are said to have refrained from a possible signing – also because of the threat of a suspension by the league.

In his NFL career Cook has 5993 rushing yards and 47 touchdowns, in the passing game he collected 221 catches for 1794 yards and five touchdowns.
