NFL: Falcons with marketing rights for Germany

The Atlanta Falcons become the fifth franchise from the US professional football league NFL to receive international marketing rights for Germany.

The Atlanta Falcons are the fifth franchise from the US professional football league NFL to receive international marketing rights for Germany. Previously, the Carolina Panthers, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers successfully applied for this right as part of the Global Markets Program.

This also makes Atlanta a candidate to play in Germany next year. In 2022, the Buccaneers had played the NFL premiere on German soil against the Seattle Seahawks in Munich. In November, the Chiefs play the Miami Dolphins and the Patriots the Indianapolis Colts in Frankfurt.

The Falcons get access for marketing, fan activations and marketing activities. The idea is to promote NFL fan growth beyond the US. “The league and clubs have made great efforts to build a fan base overseas, and we are all seeing positive results from those efforts,” said Falcons president Greg Beadles.

Under the programme, clubs are awarded the rights for a minimum of five years. Only Mexico (9) and the UK (7) have more NFL teams with marketing rights than Germany.
