No more privilege for broadcasters on certain games

The privilege of broadcasters to certain games has ended from 2023. The reason is the new television deal the NFL has signed with domestic media partners.

“All games are free agents, so to speak,” said Mike North, media relations manager for the NFL. “FOX” and “CBS” have always split the broadcast of the games at 1 p.m. and 4:05 p.m. and 4:25 p.m. local time, respectively, between them.

However, there is one caveat: In the playoffs, the NFC continues to be on “FOX” and the AFC continues to be on “CBS” unless the games are owned by prime-time partners “ESPN” or “NBC. “
