Defensive end Hamlin had caused a shock in the US professional NFL league when he suffered cardiac arrest in his Buffalo Bills’ main round game at the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2 and had to be resuscitated on the field.

Hamlin: “It was just a lot to process “

“It was important for me to wait for the right time to make a statement,” expressed Hamlin, who says he continues to make great strides in his recovery. “It was just a lot to process – mentally, physically, even spiritually.”

The Bills fell to Cincinnati in the quarterfinals of the playoffs last Sunday.

Before the game, Hamlin, who had spent a total of nine days in two hospitals, had visited his teammates in the dressing room.
