Lamar Jackson will be missing the Baltimore Ravens for Wild Card Weekend at the Cincinnati Bengals. An ex-quarterback has no sympathy for Jackson not biting his teeth
Playoffs, baby! But when the NFL’s hottest time of the year rolls around, Lamar Jackson will be missing for the time being. The quarterback is still nursing an ACL strain he suffered on Game Day 13.
Bitter. For Jackson. And especially for the Ravens.
Michael Vick: No sympathy for Lamar Jackson
However, wouldn’t Jackson have to cut his teeth for the postseason? That’s what former quarterback Mike Vick is suggesting, because he has no sympathy for Jackson missing the playoff opener with the Cincinnati Bengals. Especially because the Bengals are favored.
“It’s the playoffs, you’re three games away,” Vick said on Fox regarding the relatively short road to the Super Bowl, “Put on a brace and go. I played a whole season with a torn medial ligament.”
There was also criticism of Jackson from ex-Saints coach Sean Payton, though for tweeting his medical status.
“I just don’t like it, the team is more important than yourself,” he said, adding that he was hearing “ill feelings” from around the Ravens and that there were teammates who believed his “process has been slower than expected.”
Payton also assumes Jackson will not play for the Ravens in 2023. His contract expires after this season, and so far both parties have not been able to agree on an extension.
