Kliff Kingsbury after exit from Arizona Cardinals: No desire for NFL – One-way ticket to Thailand.

Kliff Kingsbury was released after a difficult year with the Arizona Cardinals. His reaction despite a few job enquiries: he books a one-way ticket to Thailand

The coaching carousel in the NFL is spinning fast. Especially in the weeks following the end of the Regular Season.

Teams fire coaches, talk to candidates and hire new coaches. In the numerous interviews, the coaches try to get one of the coveted jobs. Whether as head coach or even as assistant. These are wild weeks, with many rumours, many rejections with comparatively few jobs available.

Kliff Kingsbury: there have apparently been enquiries

Kliff Kingsbury is not in the mood for all of this.

The 43-year-old, recently released by the Arizona Cardinals, booked a one-way ticket to Thailand instead, according to Fox Sports.

While there, there were reportedly enquiries about a job as an offensive assistant. But Kingsbury turned it down, kindly saying he had no interest in coaching at the moment.

Playoffs missed by a wide margin

Kingsbury finished with a 28-37-1 record in four years with the Cardinals, and in 2022 the team missed the playoffs by a wide margin with a 4-13 record after a disastrous year. He was fired after the season ended. With him went general manager Steve Keim, who had previously taken time off for health reasons and resigned completely a few days ago.

Kingsbury, however, can afford the luxury of turning down a follow-up job.

He extended his contract early last year until 2027. According to media reports, he will be paid 5.5 million dollars per year. More importantly, according to Fox, Kingsbury will continue to be paid.
