Blaine Gabbert has become a bit of a hero in Tampa.
The 33-year-old Buccaneers quarterback was among one of the first responders to a helicopter crash in a bay off the Davis Islands neighbourhood, according to media reports. Gabbert was apparently already in the vicinity with a watercraft and was thus able to rescue the four casualties together with other helpers.
As reported by “The Tampa Bay Times”, a family of three and the pilot were in the helicopter. All four survived the crash unharmed. No doubt thanks to the quick intervention of Tom Brady’s backup, who entered the NFL as a first-round pick of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2011.
