NFL game in Munich: Germany is a football country – a credit to the fans!

Munich becomes the new football capital and deeply impresses even the most successful quarterback in NFL history. But without the fans, this madness would never have been possible. A commentary.

Munich – The first NFL game in Germany heralds a new era! The new football capital of Europe is no longer London, but Munich.

Exactly 69,811 spectators created an atmosphere in the Allianz Arena that neither the NFL, superstar Tom Brady nor seasoned US colleagues had seen before.

In 2015, no one could have imagined that just seven years later, football fans of all people would turn Bavaria’s capital into one big party metropolis.

The German fans made history on this day. It was they who, with their unbridled love for the game, made sure that the biggest league in the world came to Germany. Every person, whether at the public viewing, in the stadium or in front of the TV, played their part!

The sport has burned itself into the minds and hearts of an entire republic. This Sunday was the final proof the NFL needed: Germany is a football country!

And the reward can only be: two NFL games on German soil in 2023.
