The Tennessee Titans may be getting a new stadium. According to reports, plans to this effect will soon be approved by the Nashville City Council.
Munich – The Tennessee Titans could soon be playing in a new stadium.
That’s according to Nate Rau of Axios.com. According to the report, the Titans have reached an agreement with Nashville Mayor John Cooper to build a new home venue. Only the Nashville city council still has to approve the plans.
The new stadium is expected to cost up to 2.2 billion US dollars and will be built east of the current “Nissan Stadium”. The franchise will reportedly contribute US$800 million to the construction, with another US$500 million coming in the form of bonds from the state.
Super Bowl in Nashville soon?
The new arena is to be covered. This would make Nashville a possible venue for the Super Bowl or the College Championship Game.
The Titans have played at “Nissan Stadium” since 1999, after moving from Houston to Tennessee in 1997.
It is not known when exactly the construction of the new stadium will begin.
