Tua Tagovailoa: Miami Dolphins head coach gives update after concussion

After suffering a concussion in the game against the Buffalo Bills and being forced to rest after the game against the Cincinnati Bengals, quarterback Tua Tagovailoa of the Miami Dolphins is still out of football. Head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed this.

Munich/Miami – The Miami Dolphins are currently having problems at the quarterback position.

After backup Teddy Bridgewater had to play against the New York Jets (17:40) and had to be replaced with a head injury, rookie Skylar Thompson is the last remaining healthy Dolphins quarterback on the squad.

This is also because Tua Tagovailoa is still taking longer to heal after his concussion. Head coach Mike McDaniel confirmed that on Monday. At first, the hope was that he would only miss one game.

Tua not ready for football, hope at Bridgewater

“With both of them, we don’t have a timetable for their return,” McDaniel said at the Dolphins’ mandatory media roundtable. “Tua is not ready to get back on the football field,” the rookie head coach added.

“Our focus is completely on getting him and Teddy back in shape,” McDaniel continued. Tagovailoa is being “evaluated and tested every twelve to 24 hours,” according to the Dolphins’ head coach.

With Bridgewater, however, the situation is different than with Tua, as Bridgewater was only diagnosed with symptoms of a concussion, not a concussion itself. However, under the league’s brand new rules, he had to leave the Jets game and sit out for the time being.

Who will be at quarterback in week six against the Minnesota Vikings is still up in the air and will be decided later this week. While there is hope with Bridgewater, Tua is likely to miss another game.
