The Cleveland Browns announced Monday that defensive end Myles Garrett rolled over multiple times in a car accident. The 26-year-old was taken to a hospital, but the injuries are not serious
Munich/Cleveland – Defensive end Myles Garrett of the Cleveland Browns was taken to the hospital on Monday. The Cleveland Browns confirmed this in a statement.
According to the statement, the 26-year-old was involved in a car accident in Cleveland. He was travelling with another person, the local police department confirmed.
Multiple rollovers, no serious injuries
“Myles was involved in a car accident and was taken to hospital for a diagnosis,” said Garrett’s counsellor Nicole Lynn. “We are still waiting to see how serious the injuries are,” she added.
According to reports, however, the injuries are not serious. Garrett was lucky: on a wet road, he allegedly tried to avoid an animal and lost control. His car rolled over several times, according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero. He has since been released from hospital.
Whether the star pass rusher, who has already picked up three sacks in his first three games of the season, will be able to play this weekend with the Atlanta Falcons has yet to be determined, but is highly doubtful. The Cleveland Browns’ first official injury list will be released on Wednesday. If Garrett is unable to practice fully, he will have to be listed there.
