Linebacker Willie Gay of the Kansas City Chiefs will be suspended for four games. He was arrested in January for criminal damage to property.
Munich/Kansas City – The Kansas City Chiefs will have to do without linebacker Willie Gay for the next four weeks.
The defensive ace was suspended by the NFL for four games.
The reason for this is an arrest in January, Gay was later convicted of property damage.
No contact with team for two weeks
The suspension means Gay will miss games against the Indianapolis Colts, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Las Vegas Raiders and Buffalo Bills. During the first two weeks of his suspension, Gay will not be allowed to have contact with teammates or coaches or enter Chiefs practice facilities.
The second-round pick out of 2020 collected the Chiefs’ second-most tackles in the first two games of the season, and he also defended two passes.
Leo Chenal will step in as his replacement, KC selected the 21-year-old in the third round of last year’s draft.
