Aaron Donkor is back in the NFL and celebrates his comeback with the Seattle Seahawks. The team has drafted the linebacker back to the practice squad a day after he was sacked.
Munich – Quick NFL comeback for Aaron Donkor! The linebacker is back with the Seattle Seahawks.
The team had released the German as part of the roster cuts on Tuesday, but on Wednesday Donkor was signed to the franchise’s practice squad.
As a member of the International Pathway Program (IPP), Donkor does not count against the limit of 16 players allowed on the practice squad per NFL team.
Dream of a home game in Munich
For Donkor, this also means that the dream of a home game in Munich lives on after all. Because when the Seattle Seahawks take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Allianz Arena on 13 November, there is a theoretical possibility that Donkor will also be in the Hawks’ 53-man squad
Because teams can move players up from the practice squad to the main squad for a certain number of games. Donkor enters his second season in Seattle in 2022, the 27-year-old having joined the Seahawks practice squad last year through the International Pathway Program for out-of-state talent.
