Seattle Seahawks: Quarterback Drew Lock out for the time being with Corona infection

The Seattle Seahawks will be without quarterback Drew Lock for the next few days. He tests positive for Covid-19 and is out for the preseason game against the Chicago Bears. The chance for Geno Smith.

Munich/Seattle – The Seattle Seahawks quarterback duel between Geno Smith and Drew Lock was actually in full swing.

After Lock still practiced with the first offense on Tuesday, the setback for the newcomer from Denver came promptly: positive Corona test.

No game for Lock on Thursday: advantage for Smith

Lock is thus not only out for the upcoming practice sessions, but also for the second preseason game against the Chicago Bears on Friday night German time.

A major setback for Lock in the fight for the starting job with the Seahawks. Because the loss leaves Lock with only one preseason game to prove himself outside of camp.

Head coach Pete Carroll explained that Smith is currently “the number one guy” but that could all change quickly. Lock would have actually gotten the start against the Bears after Smith was allowed to start against the Pittsburgh Steelers last week.
