The Carolina Panthers will play in all black for the first time. A new NFL rule makes it possible. The players are also looking forward to it.
Munich – After the Houston Texans, the Carolina Panthers are now also making use of their new right to include a second helmet in their equipment. In addition to the traditional grey head protection, the Panthers have a black one in their repertoire for the upcoming season.
The new helmet will be used for the first time in the Thursday Night Game in Week 10 against the Atlanta Falcons.

This means the Panthers are dressed head to toe in black, which goes down particularly well with the players. “Sometimes the players develop a different self depending on what they are wearing. When a team is dressed all in black or wearing dark accessories, it brings out the dog in them. The bad side,” said defensive end Brian Burns. He hopes fans will also dress in all black.
He continued, “It’s exciting. We need some swag on the field. It’s going to be hype. It’s time to join in. “
For the first time, two helmets allowed
This season, the NFL will allow two different helmets per team for the first time. Until now, this was prohibited for safety reasons.
The prerequisite is that the second helmet is worn not only in the game but also in practice.
