The NFL is forgoing the Supplemental Draft this summer. This marks the third year in a row that no player will be drafted into the NFL in the “late talent draft”.

Munich – The NFL will not hold a Supplemental Draft this year. That’s according to NFL insider Tom Pelissero.

The Supplemental Draft serves as a supplemental draft for college players who would have been eligible to participate in the NFL Draft this year but decided not to register. Furthermore, for the upcoming season, the players would have to be able to continue playing in college, but due to academic or disciplinary misconduct, they are not allowed to do so.

Active NFL players like Jalen Thompson, who has established himself as a safety with the Arizona Cardinals, or Josh Gordon, currently with the Kansas City Chiefs, made the jump to the NFL thanks to the supplemental draft. Thompson was also the last player to be selected in the “late talent draft” in 2019 to date.
