A burning question is still pressing for an answer: Will Rob Gronkowski return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2022 season? Tom Brady isn’t putting any pressure on his buddy.
Munich – How things are going behind the scenes, we don’t know. It’s quite possible that Tom Brady is nagging his buddy Rob Gronkowski every day to finally announce his return to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
One thing is certain: the quarterback superstar is not exerting any public pressure. On the contrary: Brady stressed at a press conference that Gronk had to make the decision for himself.
“I think it’s completely up to him, and obviously we’d all love to play with him, but he’s got to make the best decision for himself, and he knows that,” Brady said.
Buccaneers or nothing
For weeks, Gronk fans have been waiting to see what the tight end decides to do. After all, he had made up his mind early on that he would only play with Brady. So that means Bucs or nix. A few weeks ago, Gronkowski put the chance of nothing, i.e. ending his career, at 50 percent. Since then, the 33-year-old has been busy thinking.
“Anybody who cares knows he’s doing what’s right for him and he’s trying to figure it out,” Brady said.
There’s no hurry yet for the Buccaneers, who wrap up their three-day minicamp on Thursday. Training camp in July is still a little ways off. Most recently, there were rumors the Buccaneers were optimistic Gronkowski would sign his name to a new contract by the start of camp.
A decision should be made by camp
“We don’t have training camp for six weeks, so he’s got to figure it out by then,” Brady said. “We’re confident if he does, and if he doesn’t, we’ve got to continue to go out there and figure out what to do. “
