Tua Tagovailoa recently got a small taste of the pressure and gloating that can come from social media. The Miami Dolphins quarterback has now fired back – indirectly on Twitter.
Munich – Tua Tagovailoa is under a lot of pressure. He knows he has to deliver, that there are no more excuses for him.
So negative headlines in the middle of the offseason are inconvenient. But most recently, a video made the viral rounds of a pass from him to newcomer Tyreek Hill that was a little starved in mid-air.

Bitter that the clip was also distributed by the Miami Dolphins. So the fact that Tagovailoa’s lack of arm strength was discussed also had his team to thank.
Tua Tagovailoa fights back
But the 24-year-old doesn’t care, firing back at critics.
“We come here to train. Everyone else – Twitter warriors, keyboard warriors, whatever you want to call them – they are not out here to train with us and work hard,” Tagovailoa said.
Instead, he referred to a pass he threw to Hill at today’s training session. “I don’t know if you guys recorded that last pass to Tyreek,” Tagovailoa told reporters at the scene. “I don’t know about you guys, but that looked like a direct hit. “
Mike McDaniel jumps to Tagovailoa’s side
Since journalists are not allowed to film on site, he had to hope for the Dolphins. And they, of course, had kept on it and did not hesitate to post the clip. In fact, the pass looks much more elegant this time around.
His coach also jumped to his side. “I’m excited about where he’s at,” Mike McDaniel said during a press conference. “There’s going to be things that you don’t execute perfectly. There’s going to be people talking about how you’re not good. And you know what? Nobody cares.”
McDaniel believes Dolphins teammates have noticed a difference in Tagovailoa. “He’s become more open. He’s coming into his own more and more in that regard. He’s let his guard down,” McDaniel said. They’ve managed to keep his confidence high, the head coach said, “while we’ve corrected him to improve his game, which is the ultimate goal for everyone.”
