LeSean McCoy took a shot at Eric Bieniemy on a podcast and wants to know why the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive coordinator has yet to land a head coaching job in the NFL.
Munich – LeSean McCoy doesn’t seem to be a fan of Eric Bieniemy. The former running back took a shot at the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator on the “I Am Athlete” podcast.
It’s because of his coaching abilities that Bieniemy hasn’t been a head coach in the NFL before, the 33-year-old said: “He talks to players in a certain way and some people take it. I don’t! That’s why he gets hyped every year and still doesn’t get a job in the end. Because everyone knows what kind of coach he is. “
Bieniemy: Lots of interviews, but no HC job
In January 2021, Bieniemy had interviews with the Jacksonville Jaguars, New York Jets, Los Angeles Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Detroit Lions and Houston Texans. All eventually decided on a different coach.
Even the New Orleans Saints and Denver Broncos, who had interest in the 52-year-old this offseason, ended up going with other coaches.
In one season with the Kansas City Chiefs, McCoy scored four touchdowns and 465 rushing yards. At the end of September, the 33-year-old ended his career after signing a one-day contract with the Philadelphia Eagles.
