Cleveland Browns: NFL drops investigation into intentional losing

The NFL has dismissed Hue Jackson’s allegations against his ex-team Cleveland Browns. After a 60-day investigation, an independent judge concluded that the Browns did not lose intentionally in 2016.

Munich/Cleveland – The Cleveland Browns did not intentionally tank during the 2016 season when they lost all 16 games this season.

That’s what an NFL independent review board ruled. Then-head coach Hue Jackson had filed a lawsuit against the franchise.

No cash payments or bonuses for losses.

“The investigation found no evidence of a ‘four-year plan’ or intent by those in charge to pay employees for defeats,” Judge Mary Jo White’s statement said. “There were no decisions made to intentionally weaken the team,” it said.

According to the statement released by the NFL, Hue Jackson did not agree to actively cooperate with the investigation. “He actually initially consented to meet with investigators, but has withdrawn that consent. “

Whether Jackson will appeal the decision to drop the investigation is still open. There is no statement from him yet.
