LA Rams Head Coach Sean McVay has officially confirmed the return of defensive tackle Aaron Donald to the Rams. The defensive star had been entertaining retirement thoughts following the Super Bowl triumph.

Munich/Los Angeles – Head coach Sean McVay of the LA Rams has provided clarity about one and a half months after the Super Bowl triumph and officially confirmed the return of Aaron Donald to the Rams, as “profootballtalk.com” reports.

Donald is said to have already informed the franchise that he plans to play for the Rams in the coming season.

At the same time, both parties are also said to be working on a contract extension.

McVay happy Donald’s return

McVay said: “His contract extension is our top priority. We are currently in talks with his agent Todd France and are trying to find a solution. We are very excited that Aaron is coming back and we will continue our journey together.”

Reports had surfaced just before the Super Bowl that Donald could resign should the Rams win the game.

The three-time Defensive Player of the Year won the Super Bowl last season with the LA Rams in a narrow 23-20 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals. En route to the title, Donald collected 3.5 sacks, four tackles for loss and nine quarterback hits in four playoff games.
