The quarterback now confirmed this via Twitter and addressed a word to his fans.

Rodgers likely to sign four-year deal

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the quarterback is also expected to sign a four-year, long-term contract with a salary of $200 million. This would make him the highest-paid player in NFL history.

However, Rodgers wrote in his tweet that the speculated contract details were “inaccurate” as were alleged terms surrounding the deal.

The fact is, the new contract will likely lessen his cap space burden next season.

It will now make it easier for Green Bay to retain key players. Thus, an extension for star receiver Davante Adams seems only a matter of time. However, the franchise will likely franchise tag him first.
