NFL – Dolphins general manager clarifies: Door for Deshaun Watson is closed

For a long time, the Miami Dolphins were considered a possible landing spot for quarterback Deshaun Watson. Now, general manager Chris Grier is making it clear: The door is closed for the Texans playmaker.

Munich – Over the past year, the Miami Dolphins have been frequently linked to a possible trade for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson.

But general manager Chris Grier has now put a stop to that. The general manager said the team would stick with Tua Tagovailoa as its playmaker.

“The door is closed for Deshaun,” he said in an interview with US reporters. Accordingly, the Dolphins have ruled out any offer for Watson this season and believe the offense assembled by new head coach Mike McDaniel will thrive.

Texans hope for quick Watson exit

The Miami franchise was one of the possible landing spots for the quarterback, who continues to face civil lawsuits and criminal investigations.

On Wednesday, Texans head coach Lovie Smith said he hopes for a quick end to the Watson issue.
