NFL: Seattle Seahawks – D.K. Metcalf to compete in 2024 Olympics as a sprinter

Last year, Seahawks receiver D.K. Metcalf competed against elite U.S. track and field athletes in a 100-meter race for the first time. Now he’s targeting participation in the 2024 Olympics.

Munich – It has long been known that D.K. Metcalf is one of the fastest players in the NFL.

Last year, the Seattle Seahawks wide receiver even competed in a track and field meet in the US to compete with some elite track athletes.

But that is said to have been just the beginning. In fact, the pass receiver has announced that he would like to compete for the USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

“I don’t run just to run. I can do that on a track somewhere. I’m trying to get to the Olympics,” he told journalist Taylor Rooks of BleacherReport.

D.K. Metcalf with Olympic ambitions

Further, he stressed that his priority this offseason is to recover from his foot injury – but in 2023, he wants to take his track and field ambitions seriously and see what he can do with them a year later.

“Right now I’m in a rehab shoe, so I can’t do much. But next year I will start training again. In 2024 you will see me again,” he said.

By the way, the 24-year-old’s Olympic dreams are not really realistic. Although he achieved a respectable time of 10.36 seconds in the 100 metres at last year’s competition, he still ended up in last place.
