After Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray caused a stir last week when he removed all pictures in a Cardinals jersey on Instagram, franchise legend Larry Fitzgerald has now spoken out and wants peace between the two parties.
Munich/Glendale – Is there tension between the Arizona Cardinals and their franchise quarterback Kyler Murray?
At least that’s what Glendale has been speculating since this week. On his Instagram channel (@k1), the first pick of the 2019 draft has deleted all posts associated with the Cardinals. The only remaining pictures show him at the Pro Bowl and in the jersey of the Oklahoma Sooners, his college team.
Larry Fitzgerald speaks out
Franchise legend Larry Fitzgerald has now spoken out on the matter. “I haven’t talked to Kyler in a while now. But at the Pro Bowl, he looked like he was having a good time,” said the future Hall of Famer, who has given very few interviews since his quiet departure from the NFL.
“I just hope everything ends satisfactorily for all parties. I love Kyler and that’s just how I love the Cardinals. I just want the best for everybody,” the 38-year-old said.
Contract negotiations are currently underway between the Cardinals and Murray, who is about to enter his fourth year.
It is considered certain that the so-called “Fifth Year Option” will be exercised. The Cardinals have until the beginning of May to do so. But nobody knows yet what will happen after 2023.
