Kansas City Chiefs kick gun nut Arnette out just before Championship Game

Damon Arnette came into the NFL as a first round pick. Since then, however, he’s been making headlines with guns in his hands rather than helmets on his head. After his arrest in Las Vegas, the cornerback has now been kicked off the Kansas City Chiefs, who are preparing for their championship game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Munich – Just over a week ago, Damon Arnette had a reserve/future contract with the Kansas City Chiefs. But now the feisty cornerback has no future with head coach Andy Reid’s team.

As NFL reporter Tom Pelissero reports, the reigning AFC champions have released the first-round pick of the 2020 draft effective immediately after he was arrested for a late-night incident involving a deadly weapon in Las Vegas. In addition, Arnette is accused of drug offenses.

The Chiefs thus pull the separation just hours before their AFC Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. At stake for the hosts is a third consecutive Super Bowl berth.

Arnette had already attracted negative attention more often this season. First, it was reported that he was facing a hit-and-run charge. Just a short time later, a video surfaced of the then Las Vegas Raiders pro waving weapons in front of the camera, threatening an unidentified person with death.

As a result, the Nevada team had the pro, who collected four tackles in four games, out the door. That was in November.

In mid-December, the Miami Dolphins brought Arnette onto their practice squad. But with them out before the playoffs, his contract also ended. He has now ruined the opportunity he had in Kansas City for himself.
