In his own podcast “Getcha Popcorn Ready with T.O. and Hatch” Terrell Owens has talked about the possibility of a return to the football field. The 48-year-old appears to have serious interest in making a comeback and wants to help out with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Munich – Is this one hell of a comeback in the making? Yes. Well, at least if Terrell Owens has his way. The Hall-of-Fame wide receiver has put himself in the conversation with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on his podcast “Getcha Popcorn Ready with T.O. and Hatch.” After the scandalous departure of Antonio Brown and the torn ACL of Chris Godwin, the situation with the “Bucs” receivers is getting thinner and thinner.
Terell Owens: “It would be three, four games max. “
“Considering what point in the season they (the Tampa Bay Buccaneers; ed.) are at, they don’t need me for a 16-game season. It would be three, four games at the most,” said the now 48-year-old.
Continuing, Owens explained, “I already think I could come in and be productive at a high level.” He would have been keeping himself fit all season. An unnamed owner is said to have advised him to do so should an opportunity arise.
“T.O.” last played in the NFL in 2010 and finished his career with 15,934 receiving yards and 153 touchdowns. To this day, he remains one of the best receivers in NFL history and was inducted into the league’s Hall of Fame in 2018. He has flirted with a comeback on and off since his career ended.
Owens ended his plea by saying, “Who has the right to say I can’t go out there and do it. You can’t tell me it’s never been tried before. Let me go out there and show you. “
