After a six-year break, the Atlanta Falcons are back in the International Series next season. Club boss Arthur Blank has a hunch who his team will be meeting in London.
Munich/Atlanta – The Atlanta Falcons are one of three teams, along with the Miami Dolphins and the Jacksonville Jaguars, that will surely play a home game outside the USA in the upcoming NFL season.
Who the clubs will meet will not be revealed until the official announcement of the game schedule in April.
But Falcons boss Arthur Blank already has a strong sense of who his franchise will receive at the International Series – and where.
“I believe we’ll be playing the Broncos. That’s what I think in light of what I’ve heard. But I’m not sure, we’ll see. But we are already very excited,” the billionaire emphasized in an interview with “Talksport”.
Asked about London, Blank said: “It was a great experience, I am very happy that we are going back there.

Also Raiders or Seahawks as opponents possible
However, Blank does not go into the background of his assumption any further. According to “NBC”, Bronsos president Joe Ellis is said to have asked the 77-year-old in January whether his team could be opponents of the Falcons in the International Game.
The chances are 20 per cent, as Atlanta will play one of his five home games against a team from another division outside the USA. Besides Denver, the Detroit Lions, the Chicago Bears, the Las Vegas Raiders or the Seattle Seahawks could be the opponents in this game.
It is also not yet known whether the Falcons will play in London or Mexico City. Atlanta last played a home game in Europe in 2014, when they beat the Lions 21-22 at Wembley Stadium. “That was a weird ending, we lost the game in the last turn,” Blank looked back.
